2/7 Notice of temporary release of new Learning Management System (LMS)

Thank you for your cooperation in the operation of the IT Service Center system.

As we have already announced at various conferences, the Learning Management System (LMS) will be a new system from March 1st. The new LMS is Fujitsu's CoursePower version 2, which is an upgraded version of the current system (Fujitsu's CoursePower version 1), so the functions and usage are almost the same, but the appearance design is different.

Therefore, we will temporarily release a new LMS for those who want to get used to the new LMS as soon as possible or who want to check how to use it in advance.

If you are interested, please try the temporary release version of LMS. The appearance design will change, but if you are using the current system, you can use it intuitively without much confusion.

● Inquiries about how to use the new system during the temporary release period

Please note that during this temporary release period, we may not be able to answer because the IT Service Center itself is reviewing usage, creating manuals for users, and training for administrators.

Contact : itsc-class @ ynu.ac.jp (Please refrain from making inquiries by phone)

● Precautions when trying to "send notification"

From the student's point of view, it is not possible to determine whether the sender of the notification is an old system or a new system.

Make sure you understand this when testing the sending of notifications.

● About the data registered on the new system side at the time of temporary release

Please note that materials and notifications registered with the new system during the temporary release period will be deleted at the end of the period.

● System update work date and time :
February 24th (Thursday) 10:00  to  March 1st (Tuesday) 10:00   (planned)

Migrate the data registered in the current system to the new system. Neither system can be accessed during the system update process. Please note that the service will be suspended for a long period of 5 days. Regarding the service suspension due to the update work, we will contact the staff and students again by e-mail and homepage around February 16th.

* The system will be updated in the 6th semester (February 11, 2022 to March 21, 2022). Please be careful when using LMS in the 6th semester.

● Official start date and time of the new system :
March 1, 2022 (Tuesday) 10:00  (planned)

The new system will be officially released as soon as the system update work is complete. If the system update work is completed earlier than planned, the new system will be released earlier than planned.

● Current LMS outage date and time :
February 24, 2022 (Thursday) 10:00

Once the system update process has begun, you will no longer be able to access the current LMS. Also, since the old and new systems will not be operated in parallel after the system update work is completed, the current system operation will be terminated when the system update work is completed. Please understand.

● User briefing for new LMS faculty and staff

We will hold a user information session for faculty and staff during March. The date and time will be announced to everyone from March 1st through the Information Planning Division.
