On-campus distribution of Security Software

ITSC distributes an installation package that can be used from off-campus as a temporary measure considering the impact of COVID-19.

When installing the software from off-campus, follow the instruction manual below.

Install Security Agent at home

* The installer packages are only for Windows PC. Packages for Mac or Android cannot be provided.

YNU has signed the Trend Micro Campus Agreement; this licensing agreement enables free installation of Trend Micro Apex One not only on PCs installed on campus, but also PCs brought to campus by faculty, staff, and students.

  • Installation cannot be performed on PCs that you leave at home permanently or any other stationary PCs.
  • Off-campus installation is not permitted.
  • If you bring your own PC to campus, connect it to the YNU Wi-Fi network.
  • You must uninstall the sotfware after end of enrollment period.

Installing Apex One on Windows

Installation can be performed on the following list.

Windows 8.1 / 10, Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019

Once installation is complete on a PC running Windows, a sign vb_on is displayed to indicate that Trend Micro Apex One is online. This icon may switch to vb_off when you move your PC off-campus, which indicates that Trend Micro Apex One is offline. This change in display is due to the fact that YNU’s Trend Micro Apex One server is not publically available. As long as your PC is connected to the YNU network, the software will be regularly updated by downloading virus definition files even if the sign indicates it is offline.
